Steve currently teaches music online for the University of Phoenix and freelances as a composer, film music reviewer/commentator, bassoonist, conductor, and keyboardist.

Other recent work include: collaborations with playwright Brian Vinero on "The Jurgens File" and "The Magnificent Ambersons", the latter was featured as part of the MN Fringe Festival, August 2014; a string piece in memoriam for the South Carolina shootings.

The choral anthem, "You Call Us, Lord" was premiered by the North Presbyterian Chorus (N. St. Paul), March 2013.

2012 saw the premiere of "Irish Hymn" from my "Suite for Small Orchestra" and the commissioned work, "Convergence" (premiered by the Century College Chamber Orchestra, MNSCU).

"Festival Psalm" was a finalist for the Raabe Prize. I freelance as a writer and am the author of the "Minstrel Music" entry in the German encyclopedia reference "Musik in Geschicte und Gegenwart", and a frequent contributor to Film Score Monthly and The Music Buff's Web Page. I host my own music blog, Cinemusical.
