Linda Addicott

Teaching Experience preschool - Adults

I bring an enthusiasm for painting and eagerness to share this experience in a fun and rewarding way. I create safe experiences where people can explore watercolor and feel successful. I have a background working with a variety of ages including people with cognitive and physical handicaps, and my skills to adapt painting techniques enable successful participation.

Here are some of the ways I like to explore and nurture creativity:

  • I bring a sense of humor to any group as well as a willingness to make painting fun
  • I am willing to give students time to explore and become comfortable with different painting techniques
  • I can help to remove barriers to successful participation through a variety of adaptations and modifications

Residency projects…

  • Birch Tree Sunset: easy beginning lesson for adults with little painting experience.
  • Moonlight Night Scene: for preschool; a painting that promotes fine motor skills by painting with tools other than
brushes. This can also be an easy and rewarding beginning painting (using brushes) for adults.
  • Sunflower Face: for preschool; a painting achieved without brushes that enhances fine motor skills. It is also a successful painting with brushes for beginning adult painters

All projects can be adapted to fit the needs of the class and goals and preferences of the teachers.
